Future of Metaverse

Recently when pandemic is still ongoing, the world is trying to get back to its common pace. Not that easy after that much time, right? However, people are trying of lack of socialization and are starting to go back to in-person events. The metaverse, which was first described in Neal Stephenson’s 1992 novel Snow Crash, will be immersive and three-dimensional — this is where virtual-reality technology comes in. It is something that is already adopted by people.

Artists

Many stars like Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Dua Lipa, Gorillaz and others all sold out their live concerts. It is something that you could not see previously that often. What about gaming industry?

Gaming industry

There is quite an interesting and likely out of bounds activity — in April 2020, Travis Scott performed in the video game, Fortnite to just under 30 million people. Artists started to realize a new connection between themselves and their fans. They realized that true presence is between artists and fans.

Roblox is a gaming platform that allows users to program their own games using the company’s game creation software. Roblox is already a kind of multiverse, with around 160 million monthly users and its own communities and currency.

The online version of Minecraft, in which users explore and create a blocky terrain, has 125 million monthly users. Panellists described the two games as “mini-verses”, postulating that a metaverse could be created if players could move between the two platforms.

Facebook

Another massive player is Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg stated the following: “In the next few years, I hope that people go from seeing us as a social media company to seeing us as a meta-reverse company. In many ways, the metaverse is the ultimate expression of social technology.”. It’s definitely something you should count on.

Bit.Country

Here comes Bit.Country. It is a decentralized metaverse platform with NFT, token economies and governance. Everyone can start their own metaverse with their own
fungible or non-fungible tokens, timeline view, and 3D virtual world view. It sounds to me as a great chance to make all the metaverse history live here.

Conclusion

The future of live events is quite an obvious aspect to me actually. It depends not only on the live-streaming artists, however it’s essential for performers to build a personal connection with their fans through technology. Out world is in a constant development process, which increases its pace each and every day. Artists who involve their fans in the creation process of their music will build connections that will last beyond a live performance! The future of performances is online, virtual, and truly hybrid, since all the fans can be present on their favorite artists exhibitions whenever they will be at the current moment. Meanwhile, every artist will eventually want to connect with fans in person and virtually.

Think of the metaverse as an immersive virtual world where people can spend time together, just as they can today with virtual reality. People will be able to “teleport” between different experiences.

The future of live events is starting in the metaverse, that’s something I am sure about!
